  • Working daily with Rail Signalling Infrastructure over the past 5 years, I have become technically familiar with Signals, Trainstops, Track Circuits, Points, Level Crossings, Power Supplies, Vital and Non-Vital Relays, Circuit Design Standards, Computer Based Interlocking Systems and the interfaces with Telemetry Systems.
  • Strong background in Telecommunications, Data Input/Output Transmission, Cabling, Networks, Electrical, Electronics, Computers, Peripherals and Systems.
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks and produce high-quality work with the support of a thorough understanding in technical theory, principles, practices and compliance regulations.

Responsibilities in Current Role as a LicenCed Signal Electrician

  • To ensure the safe and reliable operation of signalling infrastructure when carrying out construction, support, maintenance, inspections and testing of apparatus.
  • Exercise safety and accountability in all tasks.
  • Follow procedures from Maintenance Plans, Signalling Design Standards, Safeworking Regulations, Inspection/Testing Instructions, Network Rules and Engineering Manuals.
  • Install, terminate and test power, signalling and telecommunications cables, terminals and associated equipment.
  • Assist with Certification, Inspection and Testing in accordance with signalling standards and undertake maintenance activities when required.
  • Perform prewire of signalling circuits including interface stage work wiring in existing signalling installations in accordance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Maintain the safe operation and security of equipment and resources assigned within my control.
  • Other duties as directed by my Work Group Leader/Team Leader/Team Manager.

With many years of field service technical experience, I am extremely efficient at fault diagnosis, hence offering customers high-quality and timely solutions. Being on the tools and problem solving whilst maintaining safety and compliance standards is where I feel most comfortable, as I enjoy the challenges of staying up to date with new technologies.

  • Prior to this, I worked in the Gaming / Casino Industry (for Aristocrat Leisure) as a skilled and knowledgeable electronic equipment and systems technician with expertise in the areas of Electronics, Telecommunications, Data Networks, Cabling, Computer Hardware, Peripherals, Software, Firmware, Gaming Machines, Jackpot Controllers, Video Transmission Equipment, Cash Redemption Terminals, Club Membership Systems and Regulatory Systems (2003-2019).


  • Before that, I enjoyed a career spanning over 12 years with Telstra, where I had a few roles whilst climbing the ladder, starting as a Telecommunications Technician, to Team Leader, to Project Manager, to Product Specialist (1989-2001).
